I was watching this video and couldn’t help but think of ye Grand Olde Party.
When was the last time you woke up and thought man I just want to go volunteer with the local GOP. If you’re like me and most of the people I know that has never happened. Rather you can quickly assemble a long list of gripes you have with your local GOP.
Well rather than complain and beat a dead horse I’m going to do something about it. I am attempting to join the local republican party as a committeeman. Here are my reasons for doing so…
- The GOP endorsement is pretty important in Lancaster and my vote there will have the greatest effect
- I believe more people need to get involved in local politics
- I was at a committee meeting during the McCain campaign and I didn’t see signs of a succession plan
- During the same campaign I learned that 1/3 of committee people don’t have email and you wonder why the GOP is losing online
- When I tried to learn how to join there was no information, it’s like they don’t want people joining the club
- I want to learn more about how the system works (or doesn’t) then blog about it
I’ll be blogging as I go and maybe I can persuade the GOP to trot out the Grand and Party and be less boring.
