As President Obama visits Allentown to begin a ‘listening tour’ on the economy, Sam Rohrer provides the Main Street response.
ROHRER AIRS “MAIN STREET RESPONSE”
TO OBAMA’S ALLENTOWN VISIT
ALLENTOWN, PA (12.03.09): The campaign of State Representative Sam Rohrer (R-Berks), candidate for the Republican gubernatorial nomination, will air the following radio response to President Barack Obama’s Allentown “White House to Main Street” event this Friday:
“This is Representative Sam Rohrer – Republican Candidate for Governor. When President Obama comes to Allentown, he’ll find a state in tougher shape than the one he campaigned in less than a year ago. Unemployment is up to 8.8% — 600,000 friends and neighbors looking for work — even after billions to bail out banks, car companies and reward bad behavior on
Wall Street – something called “economic stimulus.” Now look, the President isn’t totally responsible –- Democrat and Republican reckless spending, taxes and overregulation put us in this spot – the squeeze on Main Street has been happening for a long time. But the policies he’s proposed: the healthcare takeover, the anti-job CAP & TAX plan – the transfer of power to Washington that could take decades to reverse. President Obama needs to know there’s something we want more than another bailout –- our freedom. I’m Sam Rohrer –- it’s time for us –- on Main Street – to speak up.”
Rohrer is the prime sponsor of the “Tenth Amendment Resolution” (House Resolution 95) in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. The measure cites constitutional limits on federal powers in opposing what he terms “the unchecked transfer of power from Harrisburg to Washington, D.C.”
