As you may have heard John McClure has said he is running for congress in PA’s 16th district. The question is, is he in the race to win or to drum up a little free advertising?
The thought crossed my mind when I first read the article in the New Era about his run,
He is the founder and owner of two businesses: Aslan Lamont LLC, a painting, wallpaper and decorating business based at 9 S. Prince St.; and Advisors Outsourcing, a management consulting firm for nonprofits and charities.
When I browsed the facebook page of Mr. McClure I found his business page, Aslan Lamont, I noticed that the phone number for his business and the phone number for this campaign were the same. I clicked through the pictures and saw one that looked familiar. It also appears on the Brookline Builder website owned by a friend of mine.

One of these shouldn’t be there.
I also checked his consulting page and it lists the same phone number as Vote McClure and lists the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce as it’s website. It appears as if McClure is piggybacking on the success of others.
All this leads me to conclude that McClure isn’t seriously running for office. Instead it looks like he is benefiting from the free publicity.

Fishy indeed. Doesn’t seem to have done the basic diligence before making formal announcements.
