If you haven’t already you should check out the Pennsylvania Family Institute’s voter guide.

Both Tom Corbett and Sam Rohrer answered the questionaire while only 1 Democrat (Jack Wagner) responded. Here are a few areas where Corbett and Rohrer were not in agreement.

Provide every student a scholarship to attend the school of his choice for kindergarten through 12th grade using existing state revenues.

Corbett – Undecided
Rohrer – Support

Reform no-fault divorce law to require mutual consent of both husband and wife when minor children are involved, unless proof of fault or abuse.

Corbett – Undecided
Rohrer – Support

Make taxpayer-funded pre-school available to all families.

Corbett – Undecided
Rohrer – Opposed

Prohibit labor unions from compelling workers to pay dues or fees to a union as a condition of employment. (reference HB 50, introduced in 2009)

Corbett – Undecided
Rohrer – Support

As a general rule it seems as if it’s a controversial issue Tom Corbett is “undecided” personally I hope he decides before the primary election

Rohrer is a support on the first question (school choice), rather than oppose

You’re right Nathan Sam is for school choice and even for home-schooling.

One important thing that is not on this list is Sam’s plan to abolish property tax. Citizens of PA would not longer be tossed out of their homes because of their inability to pay the ever increasing property tax. In essence Sam is protecting our property rights. Private property and the right to its exclusive use is a fundemental aspect of Liberty, and a persons home should be hands off for government. More people lose their homes due to the inability to pay their taxes than do they due to forclosure.

Thanks for catching that Nathan, updated it.

Sam is going to need some help in Harrisburg if he wants to eliminate the property tax successfully. He’ll need plenty of friends in the legislature, and I intend to be one. Elect me, Doug Walters, in PA’s 93rd house district!
