If you go the Lancaster public library and check out “Rules For Radicals” by Saul Alinsky you will find this inscription on the front page. “In honor of Lois Herr presented by the Women’s Alliance”. If you are not familiar with the book here are a few of the “Rules“…
- Power is not only what you have, but what an opponent thinks you have. If your organization is small, hide your numbers in the dark and raise a din that will make everyone think you have many more people than you do.
- Never go outside the experience of your people. The result is confusion, fear, and retreat.
- Whenever possible, go outside the experience of an opponent. Here you want to cause confusion, fear, and retreat.
- Make opponents live up to their own book of rules. “You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity.”
- Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.
- Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it. Don’t try to attack abstract corporations or bureaucracies. Identify a responsible individual. Ignore attempts to shift or spread the blame.
At a recent rally against the Pitts-Stupak Amendment Lois Herr condemned Pitts and his friends for being “Radicals” the question is, who is the radical? Lois Herr has a history of support for The Women’s Alliance, so the question is, does she support having “Rules For Radicals” by Saul Alinsky being donated in her honor?

Don’t know about Lois, but I KNOW Obama is a student of Saul Alinsky and he taught the methods to groups(Acorn also) when he represented them. To date, Obama STILL follows Alinsky’s methods and has used them against Americans, who DON’T happen to agree with his ideology or takeover of Americans’ freedoms. He is leading America down the path of Socialism/
Marxism and towards a “One World Order”, where we would have to answer to a ‘global, U.N. set of rules and conditions’ as he sets about “redistributing our hard earned dollars to those who he feels cannot contribute on their own for global warming”, so we have to pick up their tab. This, is only One of his ideas, since he thinks he was elected the “World’s President”, and that America is
an ‘arrogant country’. Can’t wait to rid our country of this Radical Leftist, along with his ‘thug commrades & terrorist friends.
BTW: In his ineptness of handling the Oil Spill, by refusing the offer from other countries to help, he has shown his lack of concern for what was happening. Ex. He is now getting involved by going to the gulf states, when in fact, if he had acted sooner by usage of ALL technologies-from America & the other countries that offered, this tragic oil spill WOULD NOT HAVE REACHED ALL THE SHORELINES THAT IT HAS. It almost seems like golf, his having concerts and dinners at the Whitehouse was MORE important. Perhaps now, the people that put this fraud in office, see what his REAL AGENDA IS, THOUGH THEY’RE LIKELY NOT GOING TO ADMIT IT-THEY GOT CONNED, BY THE COMMUNITY ORGAIN
Funny how you put “radical” in parenthesis. Saul Alinksy was definitely a very extremist left wing Marxist radial, and everyone’s favorite Socialist, Barack Obama, is a devout follower. Let us not attempt to make light or glorify this horrible book.
