Clinton Denies Trying to Get Sestak out of the Senate Race

In an interesting turn of events Bill Clinton has denied trying to get Joe Sestak to leave the senate race against Arlen Specter. He went on to state that he had never even been accused of offering him a job.

Well it depends on what your definition of “is” is. According to Greg Sargent at the Washington Post

The White House says, as noted above, that it asked Clinton to suggest to Sestak an unpaid advisory board position.

And according to Joe Sestak,

Last summer, I received a phone call from President Clinton. During the course of the conversation, he expressed concern over my prospects if I were to enter the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate and the value of having me stay in the House of Representatives because of my military background. He said that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel had spoken with him about my being on a Presidential Board while remaining in the House of Representatives.
