Lancaster Commissioners Save Taxpayers 500,000 by Disbanding Human Relations Commission

Lancaster County Commissioners voted today on a motion to disband the local Human Relations Commission. Commissioners Scott Martin and Dennis Stuckey voted in favor of disbanding the HRC and Craig Lehman voted against the motion. The motion takes effect on December 17th of this year and will save Lancaster Taxpayers an estimated 500,000 annually.

With the Lancaster HRC shutting down people will still be able to file complaints with the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission office in Harrisburg. Complaints can be filed the same way they were filed in Lancaster, either by phone, U.S. mail or in person.
