Beginning with a few popular voices bringing together the common {conservative} man in historic proportions, tea parties have brought together like-minded citizens who want a say in the insanity going on in our government right now.

At a Tea Party rally, you can expect to see a couple of things:

Families

All Ages

All Races

Posters with slogans about fiscal spending, taxes, the president.

An open forum – usually outside – near a public street or in a park.

Probably a a speaker or two on a megaphone or microphone.

Book tables, literature and growing paraphernalia with slogans similar to posters being held.

The occasional poster by a fringe group.

Maybe even food but bring your own.

Usually no chairs (or umbrellas). Bring your own also.

You hopefully will not see (because it just isn’t there & has not been at previous rallies):

Violence

Fighting

Mob mentality

I saw an acquaintance on Facebook say that he was afraid of the scary tea party people. Tea Partiers are not scary people – scared, maybe, but not scary, not violent. They are individuals tired of sitting home hearing things they don’t agree with from both parties. By taking to the streets, they have found a common purpose with fellow citizens that supports the very core values they believe – individual rights – as outlined and protected by our Constitution. Many of these rallies have sparked organized action in support of conservative candidates, monthly discussion groups and entire books on the topic.

If you feel strongly about the rights of individuals in America, about supporting & protecting your conservative values, try attending one of the upcoming tea parties and listen and contribute to the conversation. It is your individual right to do so, at least as of today. Unless we participate, that right might be taken too.

Here are some sites listing upcoming tea parties – centered around April 15th – annual TAX day!

These sites let you search by your area:

Tea Party Nation

or The 912 Project

or Tea Party Patriots

or Tea Party Express (check out when this national tour of amazing speakers is coming near your town)

Here are two local to my area:

Phoenixville’s Valley Forge Patriots

Philadelphia’s Independence Hall Tea Party Association

Please feel free to add more dates or sites for readers to reference for tea party events or leave a comment on what you have enjoyed most about the tea party rallies and follow-up groups!

If you have an opinion on the new show, join us on Twitter for exclusive footage, previews from upcoming episodes, behind the scenes action and much more!

WHEN: Tuesday, April 6, 10 PM ET/9 PM CT

WHERE: Wherever you are! Get on Twitter and be sure to follow @GenMom and @thegoodwife_CBS and @rolemommy and join The Good Wife Facebook Fan Page for all the details. The hashtag for the events will be #TheGoodWife. Just visit www.tweetchat.com enter #TheGoodWife and you can join the conversation and watch as it develops online!

So what is going to become of Peter’s conversion experience? Did he really just become a Christian and is he still going to pursue politics after getting out of jail? (Yes, the writers went there. Will they continue to play fair?) Will Alicia’s quickie kiss with Will catch up with her? Will the Sarah Palin lovin’ gun expert get together with the Hillary Clinton lovin’ law partner. Click here for a sneak peek of Tuesday’s show. You can also view previous episodes to get caught up.

WHY should I care about this show? Now, that question can’t be answered in a few simple bullet points but I’ll try:

Intelligent intrigue involving lawyers, a politican wannabe and a Sarah Palin lovin’ gun expert

Scandal that knows its boundaries (or does it?)

Clever family involvement with kids helping uncover secrets with latest knowledge of the online and digital world.

Handling religion and politics in an amazingly transparent way but still careful and fair (so far).

Excellent acting by the stunningly beautiful Julianna Margulies and refined Chris Noth not to mention several other amazing members of the cast.

I ask you, what is not to love?!

For a full description (which I snagged from their Facebook page), see below:

THE GOOD WIFE is a drama starring Emmy Award winner Julianna Margulies as a wife and mother who boldly assumes full responsibility for her family and re-enters the workforce after her husband’s very public sex and political corruption scandal lands him in jail. Pushing aside the betrayal and public humiliation caused by her husband, Peter, Alicia Florrick starts over by pursuing her original career as a defense attorney.

As a junior associate at a prestigious Chicago law firm, she joins her longtime friend, former law school classmate and firm partner Will Gardner, who is interested to see how Alicia will perform after 13 years out of the courtroom. Alicia is grateful the firm’s top litigator, Diane Lockhart, offers to mentor her but discovers the offer has conditions and realizes she’s going to need to succeed on her own merit. Alicia’s main competition among the firm’s 20-something new recruits is Cary, a recent Harvard grad who is affable on the surface, but is competitive to the core. Fortunately, Alicia finds an ally in Kalinda, the firm’s tough in-house investigator.

Gaining confidence every day, Alicia transforms herself from embarrassed politician’s scorned wife to resilient career woman, especially for the sake of providing a stable home for her children, 14-year-old Zach and 13-year-old Grace. For the first time in years, Alicia trades in her identity as the “good wife” and takes charge of her own destiny.

If you are NOT a Twitter user, leave your thoughts here and I’ll be sure to incorporate them into the discussion.
