LOIS HERR VIOLATES DISCLOSURE RULES

Lancaster, PA—Lancaster County Republican Committee Chairman Greg Sahd reported
today that Democratic Congressional candidate Lois Herr appears to be in violation
of campaign disclosure rules. According to public records, Ms. Herr’s 2010 Financial
Disclosure Statement, due nearly three months ago, was never submitted.

“This is the sort of thing that has Charlie Rangel and Maxine Waters in trouble,” said
Chairman Sahd. “Ms. Herr needs to pay her fine, disclose her finances and comply with
the rules,” Sahd said.

According to the House Ethics Committee, Congressional candidates must file financial
disclosures within 30 days of raising or spending $5,000 for a campaign for election to the
U.S. House of Representatives. Ms. Herr filed this report in 2009. The rules also require
that, “In each subsequent year in which an individual continues to be a candidate on May
15, a new report must be filed by that date.” May 15 was a Saturday this year, so the
report was due May 17, 2010.

There is a penalty for reports filed more than 30 days late. Extensions of up to 90 days may
be requested before the May deadline. Ms. Herr did not request an extension and is now
nearly three months past the deadline, according to public records on file with the Clerk of
the House.
