Headlining the event is the race for Specter’s senate seat. Trailing a close second is the race for the governors mansion. But flying a little lower on the radar are a few congressional races. This will be a first in an 8 part series covering all the congressional races in PA.

PA-6

It’s the fight for Gerlach’s seat and the GOP field is filling up fast. Front runner Steve Welch was talked out of running for PA-7 to clear the way for Meehan but turning around and walking a few miles the other direction may not have been his smartest move. He faces local conservative favorite Curt Schroder. Welch will also have to answer for the fact that he voted as a Democrat in 2008.

Also in the race are Patrick Sellers, Ryan Costello and Howard Cohen.

On the Dem side you have Doug Pike and Manan Trivedi in a shouting match for who is more civil and pro-choice.

It will be an interesting race to say the least.

Stay tuned for Part 2 of 8 “PA-7″

So far no one is saying anything official, check out this Morning Call article for more info

Schenker has made similar statements on the Corbett for Governor facebook group.

Corbett–Meehan OR Meehan–Corbett
Allegheny Republican Chairman Jim Roddey callS for Corbett-Meehan ticket..the SE GOP Caucus may come back with the counter offer of a Meehan-Corbett Ticket
Either way, if this happens…count me in. I will be glad to step back and support an amazingly strong ticket. If not, I will be a candidate for Lt. Governor and I would be happy to serve with either nominee–both good men
