From the Independence Hall Tea Party Association.

“Since the State of the Union Address, the state of ObamaCare has gone from serious to critical condition,” said Teri Adams, president of the Independence Hall Tea Party Association at a rally held, late this morning, in the Pennsylvania Capitol Building.

Today’s rally, sponsored by Americans for Prosperity, was timed to coincide with a Health Committee vote on HB 42, an ‘opt out of ObamaCare’ measure introduced by State Representative Matt Baker (R-Bradford, Tioga) in the PA House of Representatives.

“First, the US House of Representatives voted to repeal ObamaCare–then Federal Circuit Judge Vinson ruled, after 28 states (overall) filed suit calling for the law to be overturned, that the bill was entirely unconstitutional, ” said Ms. Adams.

“The Tea Party, not President Obama, is ‘winning the future.’ We will attack ObamaCare from every angle until the bill lands on the ash heap of history.

“In Pennsylvania and New Jersey, legislation allowing for the ‘opting out of ObamaCare’ has a serious chance of winning approval. In Pennsylvania, there’s a superb chance that Governor Tom Corbett will be signing a bill in the next several months,” she said.

“ObamaCare is dying a slow death and that, ultimately, is good for America. Once it is gone, real health care reform can begin.”

From the Americans United for Life blog,

On both February 18 and February 23, 2010, federal agents raided the Women’s Medical Society abortion clinic in Philadelphia and found “deplorable and unsanitary” conditions including blood on the floors, parts of aborted children stored in jars, and post-operative recovery areas that consisted solely of recliners.  During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the clinic’s director, Dr. Kermit Gosnell, typically did not arrive at the clinic until 6 pm each day and sanctioned the performance of gynecological exams and the administration of controlled substances and prescription medication by non-licensed staff at the clinic.

Gosnell’s license to practice medicine was immediately suspended and the clinic was closed down.  In its order, the Pennsylvania Department of State’s Medical Board specifically cited to a November 20, 2009 case where a woman died after being given two rounds of painkillers and anesthesia prior to an abortion, but did not mention the dozens of medical malpractices suits filed against Gosnell.
