Former Governor Mark Schweiker definitively ruled out a challenge to U.S. Senator Bob Casey in an interview this afternoon with PoliticsPA.

“It’s always flattering to hear such invocations, but it wasn’t born of my thought process. It’s not in the cards. It was never in the cards,” said Schweiker.

Mark Schweiker for Senate in 2012?

Former Governor Mark Schweiker has been generating a little buzz as a potential candidate for Senate in 2012.

His name has been mentioned a few times as the GOP’s ideal candidate and at the PA Society former Lancaster Committee Chairman Chet Beiler asked former Gov Schweiker to let him and others “draft him to run”. Schweiker didn’t encourage or discourage the idea.
